YOUNG ACTORS WORKSHOP
STUDY SCREEN ACTING AND STAR IN A SHORT FILM
Five fun packed days exploring all of the excitement of TV and film acting. Students will discover the principals of acting and performance whilst preparing to act in front of the camera and star in their own short film.
They will also get the opportunity to discover the exciting roles of filmmaking!
This workshop will include:

At the end of the week students will star in their very own short film.
The films will be shot using professional equipment under film set conditions.
Each student will receive a copy of the film once it is edited.

TWO WEEK INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS
JOIN THE CREATION CAST (FILM ACTING INTENSIVE) OR CREW (FILMMAKING INTENSIVE) AS WE EMBARK ON AN EXCITING TWO WEEK COLLABORATIVE JOURNEY TO CREATE OUR VERY OWN MOVIE
FILMMAKING INTENSIVE
JOIN THE CREATION CREW: CREATE, DIRECT, SHOOT AND EDIT THE MOVIE
Students will discover and learn the fundamentals of filmmaking with sessions in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, set design, casting, costume and sound recording. They will form a crew and quickly become a team as they generate concepts, explore genres and workshop ideas to create and shoot a movie from scratch.
Week 1 - Pre-Production
Scriptwriting: students generate ideas, learn fundamentals of three-act structure, and collaborate to devise and produce a film script.
Directing: they learn the basics of film language, camera placement, and shot construction. As well as techniques for directing the actor.
Cinematography: students are introduced to the digital cameras that they will use whilst learning camera framing and movement techniques and rules. They will participate in group shooting exercises and then come back and review the footage.
Sound: students learn to use handheld audio recorders and discuss the best practices to ensure quality sound recording.
Set and Costume Design: students will analyse various filmmakers and discuss the process of character costume and set design and its role within a production. They will learn to extract key information from an initial concept then use it to develop designs that bring the characters and settings to life.
Week 2 - Production and Post Production
In week two we will shoot the film. Each filmmaker will have the opportunity to work as Director, Cinematographer, Sound Technician and Production Assistant as they crew on their own movie.
Once the scenes are shot they will get to work on post production and editing.

FILM ACTING INTENSIVE
JOIN THE CAST: EXPLORE AND MASTER SCREEN ACTING, THEN STAR IN A MOVIE
Students will discover and master the fundamentals of screen acting, from camera techniques to character development. They will then put the techniques and skills they have learnt to use and bring their character to life in an original independent movie.
Week 1 - Training and development
We will explore the key skills needed for screen acting and delve into the works of various acting partitioners to develop and enhance each actor's individual acting method and style.
The Script: students will learn how to breakdown a script and extract information to build the life of the character and explore the world of the film.
Character Development: students will explore different methods and exercises to create a back story for their character to understand the way they think and feel. We will then use physical and vocal practices to develop physicality and voice in performance.
Acting Technique: students will be introduced to acting practitioners such as Konstantin Stanislavski and Sanford Meisner, exploring their techniques and methods by participating in various acting exercises to develop their understanding of what acting is and how to deliver believable on screen performances.
Camera Techniques: students will learn how to act in front of the camera and will be introduced to the skills needed work with the camera.
Castings: students will develop their casting techniques and participate in casting simulations.
Week 2 - Production
In week two we will shoot the film. Each actor will take what they have learnt and put the skills and techniques to use by bringing their character to life on screen.

THEATRE VS FILM
A TWO WEEK EXTRAVAGANZA OF ACTING!
DELVING INTO THE DEPTHS OF TWO CREATIVE WORLDS, SO SIMILAR BUT YET MILES APART
To become a great and versatile actor, you must develop the skills for both stage and screen.
WEEK 1: FILM
During the first week, students will create three contrasting characters for three separate scenes.
We shall master the different techniques of acting for camera and go through multiple rehearsal techniques that will enhance each character's performance for the camera.
During the second half of the week, the students will perform the 3 scenes which will be recorded under film set conditions.
These scenes can then be used to create or add to their showreel.
What is a showreel?
An actor’s showreel is like a video showcase – it’s a portfolio of footage that you can use to send to agents and casting directors. Showreels give casting directors the opportunity to see how you come across on camera and your versatility as an actor.
WEEK 2: THEATRE
In week two we shall do a complete 180. Using the same characters and scenes from Week 1 we will now start adapting the characters and performances for the stage. We shall delve deep into various stage and theatre rehearsal techniques to bring new life and energy to the characters and scenes that were created in the first week and prepare them to be performed on stage.
On the last day of the week the students will perform in a special Showcase. Family and friends will be invited to watch the scenes created for film, followed by the live performance on stage; showcasing each student’s talents and skills in front of a live theatre audience.
Please Note: To get the most out of this workshop we highly recommend enrolling for both weeks however there is the option to attend either Week 1 or Week 2 if your child is unable to attend both.

YOUNG ACTORS SPECTACULAR
A fun packed week exploring all the different sides of acting from theatre to film, green screen to castings and much much more.
Each day will be unique and will provide new exciting experiences for our young actors.
DAY 1 SKILLS DAY
We will begin with fun acting games for the students to get to know each other. Then we will move on to vocal and movement exercises where our students will learn how you use their voice and body to create interesting and believable characters.
DAY 2 CHARACTER BUILDING
Using the skills discovered in Day 1, the students will create their own characters. Using different character building techniques and exercises, the students will create original, exciting characters that will be used and developed throughout the rest of the week.
DAY 3 THEATRE
Mastering the stage! Using the characters created from Day 2, we shall bring them to life on stage. We will explore different stage techniques to learn how to command the stage with the body and the voice, while performing in different scenes and improvisations.
DAY 4 FILM AND GREEN SCREEN
Camera, lights, action! From one world to the next, in Day 4 we move onto acting for camera. Using the scenes created for the stage we shall now use them for the screen! Students will learn the subtle but yet powerful differences between stage and screen acting, they will understand how to adapt their performance to suit TV and Film. Before the day is out, the students will try their hand at acting in front of a green scene, from pretending to be a superhero to being deserted on a distant planet.
DAY 5 CASTING
Using all of the techniques they have learnt from the last four days, the students will now embark on a day of castings and auditions. From commercial casting to theatre and film castings, we will guide the students through the exciting casting process and they will understand how actors work their way into that next big Netflix show! In each casting simulation they will be using the character they have developed and also having to improvise on the spot. By the end of the day they will be ready for any casting that is thrown their way!
All of the footage recorded throughout the week will be shared with you, so that you and your child can relive the fun week together at home.

THE STUDIO
Our summer workshops take place at our studio in Sitges.
THE SPACE
With over 300 square meters split over two floors, the space consists of two large sound-proof acting studios, along with a large industrial style reception area and various study rooms.
There are 3 bathrooms one of which is wheelchair accessible.
The larger of the two studios has its own removable stage for live performances whilst the smaller white studio is perfect for scene study and filming. Each corner of the studio has its own personality and the space is fully adaptable to create different scenes and sets. It is simply the perfect space for our workshops.

Prices for the courses vary due to the length of the course and the extra work that will go on behind the scenes to deliver your child’s finished project.

Early Bird: To receive this discount you must enrol your child by the 21st May and make the full payment 2 weeks before the start of the workshop.
Friend Discount: This discount is limited to 3 per student.
Multi-Class Discount: The 10% discount will be applied to the lower priced workshop.
Deposit and Payment Policy
A €50 deposit per place is payable within 7 days from date of booking to secure your child’s place, with the remaining balance due 14 days before the first day of the workshop for Early Bird clients and on the first day of the workshop for non-Early Bird clients.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of notification of cancellation, the following cancellation fee shall apply on the booking:
More than 30 days prior to the first day of the workshop: 0% cancellation fee (your deposit will be refunded to you)
More than 10 days prior to the first day of the workshop: €50 cancellation fee (deposit is held as the cancellation fee)
Less than 10 days prior to the first day of the workshop: 50% cancellation fee (you will be charged 50% of the workshop fee)
